YLC Dubai 2017 was an incredibly fruitful and rewarding experience for the 62 students and 5 teachers. We were fortunate to have Varoun, Dario, Dennis, Albie, and Amanda attend the conference and help the students identify their true potential to make differences in their schools, businesses, and communities. On top of the guidance provided by the teachers, the students were fortunate enough to receive advice, guidance, and college counseling from Karan Kumar, CEO and Founder of Amalthea Capital, Niti Kewalramani, CEO and Founder of The Education Advisory, and Mitesh Daga, Managing Director of TPG Capital.
The students hailed from 27 different schools, and the diversity of backgrounds and experiences were very evident as they worked with real-life business scenarios to tackle world problems. For the second time, we provided students with case studies and problems centered around drug pricing, technological innovation and educational reform, global energy, homelessness, and healthcare, and we let them devise their own solutions.
The students all provided very intelligent insights and innovative solutions to some of the biggest problems that businesses and organizations around the world are facing. We were very impressed at their ability to engage deeply and effectively with the case studies.
Watching these young adults grow into leaders through identifying their leadership styles, learning the basics of start-ups, learning how to effectively negotiate, and making friendships and connections that will last far beyond the conference was very fulfilling for us, and this conference is one that we will not forget.
