YLC Dubai was an amazing experience for the students as well as the teachers! We were fortunate to have Varoun, Jonathan, and Gillian as teachers, and even more fortunate to have around fifty engaged and passionate students. Students came from different emirates, schools, and backgrounds, but all shared a desire to become better leaders.
We experimented with a new focal point for our curriculum, utilizing real-world business case studies. Students answered questions such as what Kroger should do to combat the threat of online shopping or how a pharmaceutical firm, Novartis, should price its drug and enter a new market. The students really stepped up and presented thoughtful solutions to complex problems which real-world industry executives struggle with.
I was so excited to see the students grow over the three-day conference: learning more about themselves and their leadership style, becoming better negotiators and speakers, and becoming closer to other talented students they wouldn’t get to meet otherwise. YLC Dubai 2017 was a truly memorable conference for me.
